NWS believes there is approximately a 50% chance of 12 inches or more of snowfall throughout Connecticut between late Saturday night and into Monday. The agency predicts it might begin snowing as late as early Saturday night and may last until early Monday afternoon.
The meteorologist said that the record for snowfall in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 25 is four inches, so it is possible that a record could be broken this Sunday, should the snow climb higher than four inches. He also said that it'll be in the 20s temperature-wise this coming week.
A storm passing south of Connecticut could bring some additional snow to the region this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. The storm is expected to pass off the mid-Atlantic coast early Sunday and then south of Long Island during the day Sunday, the weather service's New York office said.
The forecast said Connecticut on Saturday will experience temperatures in the high teens. However, the rest of the week as well, Jan. 26 through Jan. 30, is expected to see sub-freezing temperatures, with overnight low temperatures in the teens and single digits.
