Google is empowering its Chrome browser with the ability to alter imagery and a virtual assistant to help with online tasks as part of its push to turbocharge its digital services with more artificial intelligence technology.

Gemini in Chrome can browse the web on its own to perform tasks on your behalf and gets its own side panel -- here's what else is new.

As spotted by The Mac Observer, “Google is adding a new ‘Safari import’ option to move your info from Safari to Chrome on your iPhone. It uses a file you export from your settings. You can find this inside Chrome settings under ‘Safari import’. When you open it, Chrome does not just give you a button. It walks you through the steps clearly.”

Google is testing a native Windows 11 notification that alerts users when Chrome is no longer the default browser.
