South Carolina State University will hold a victory parade Wednesday afternoon to celebrate its overtime win in the Celebration Bowl.

A flag representing South Carolina State University flew above the State House in Columbia for the first time on Monday.

MLK Day at the Statehouse in Columbia, SC, marked the first time an HBCU flag has flown above the state’s seat of power. It marked SCSU’s football championship.

Gov. Henry McMaster did not include an across the board pay raise for state employees in his proposed $14 billion general fund spending plan. McMaster, however, included pay raises for law enforcement in South Carolina. McMaster in the past has not included across the board raises for state employees instead opting to give agencies flexibility.
