A 5-year-old and his father are in a Texas detention facility after they were detained by ICE officers in Minnesota last week.

Protesters in Phoenix, Tempe and near Scottsdale said federal immigration agents used pepper spray on them for no apparent reason at several protests.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrived in riot gear in Dilley on Wednesday as protesters gathered outside the South Texas Family Residential Center to draw attention to the detention of a five-year-old boy from the Minneapolis area being held at the ICE facility.

Federal agents used pepper spray and pepper balls on protesters outside the Federal Building in Eugene. Protesters attempted to enter the building while chanting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Six people were arrested in two separate confrontations between federal agents and protesters.

The father and son were detained on Jan. 20 in Minnesota.

Protesters rallied across Market Street and into the Tacoma Municipal Building calling for the City Council to take action against ICE.
