January 14th is apparently International Kite Day! While Howard used to be good at flying a kite, he will stick to printing one instead. For today, Howard letterpress printed an image of a kite from a photo engraving made in 2008 to originally accompany our volunteer appreciation awards for that year. The text below, set in 30 point Stymie Bold Condensed font, states, “Go Fly A Kite!” This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #SacHistory
